Meet the unstoppable
Eddy Merckx

Meet the team behind The Unstoppable Eddy Merckx
6 Day Films was founded by Lee Donaldson and Simon Hardy after over 20 years collaborating together in film and advertising.
Lee Donaldson
Director, Producer and Writer
An experienced director of feature films, music promos, documentaries and commercials, Lee is also a lifelong Eddy Merckx fan.
While filming for the BBC, Channel 4, ITV, Sky, PlayStation and Levi’s, Lee often wondered why nobody had made a film about Eddy Merckx. With time to kill during the pandemic, he built a team and reached out to the Merckx family.
Simon Hardy
Writer and Producer
Simon has spent 30 years advising on communications for some of the biggest brands in the world, including Nike, TikTok, Starbucks and Disney.
He’s collaborated with Lee multiple times and produced award-winning film and digital work for clients across North America and Europe. So when Lee introduced him to Eddy’s incredible story, teaming up to tell it on film was a no-brainer.
George Chignell
BAFTA and Emmy-nominated Producer
Executive Producer
George is a highly-respected documentary producer with credits on many award-winning films, including the acclaimed cycling documentary, Slaying the Badger. She works regularly with Academy Award-winning directors Alex Gibney and Asif Kapadia, and has been a key advisor throughout the project.
